Karl Sandbrook – Lawyer

Karl was born and raised in Tararua, where his family farmed deer and dairy on the foothills of the Ruahine Ranges.

Karl studied law at University of Otago and Criminology at Victoria University. He was admitted to the Bar in 1997 and practised law in Kapiti and Wellington, before heading overseas to travel and work in Europe.

Karl returned to New Zealand in 2005 and has practiced law in Hawke’s Bay since then.

Karl provides practical legal advice to clients in clear and simple language. He enjoys both the challenges and rewards of a life in the law.

Karl and his wife Natalie live locally with their 5 children. The family farms beef, pigs and poultry and grow crops. Natalie also operates her own business teaching speech and drama. Karl loves being a dad and spending time with his family.

When commitments allow, Karl heads for the coast in search of crayfish.

Melanie Bishop – Legal Executive

Melanie was born and raised in Hastings where she continues to reside.

Melanie worked in retail for 10 years and during this time completed her Legal Executive Certificate graduating in 2004. Melanie has more than 15 years of experience working as a Legal Executive. In 2015 she upskilled again to become a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. This enables Melanie to also take Statutory Declarations.

Melanie genuinely enjoys helping clients with their conveyancing enquiries. She also advises on estate and trust matters. You will find Melanie friendly, knowledgeable and extremely efficient.

In her spare time Melanie enjoys reading (especially a good crime or mystery novel) or sewing her next garment using her extensive seamstress skills! Melanie also enjoys spending time with her family and is a proud aunt to several nieces and nephews.
